Adults of Plectroglyphidodon imparipennis reach a maximum total length of 6 centimetres, or 2.4 inches. This fish has a white body, with a yellow caudal fin. Its dorsal fin contains 12 spines and 14 to 15 soft rays, while its anal fin contains 2 spines and 11 to 12 soft rays. This fish species occurs in the Indo-Pacific region, ranging from eastern Africa east to the Line Islands and Pitcairn Islands, and north to the Philippines and Ryukyu Islands.
