Platystomos albinus is a species of fungus weevil beetle that belongs to the family Anthribidae. Adult individuals of this species reach a length of 7 to 10 mm, which equals 0.3 to 0.4 inches. The larvae of Platystomos albinus feed on decaying trees, and they live in association with the fungus Daldinia. This species can be found in deciduous forests across Europe and the Near East, and its range includes central southern and eastern Britain. The species was first described by Carl Linnaeus in 1758, where he named it Curculio albinus in his work Systema Naturae.
