Platysaurus orientalis, the Sekukhune flat lizard, is a small lizard native to savannah in South Africa's Sekhukhuneland.

About Platysaurus orientalis Fitzsimons, 1941

Females and juvenile Platysaurus orientalis have a black back marked with white stripes, and a white belly. Adult males have a green body, with a tail that is orange or red on the upper surface and yellow on the underside. For adults, the typical snout-to-vent length (SVL) ranges from 7.0–7.5 cm (2.8–3.0 in), and the longest recorded SVL for the species is 9.0 cm (3.5 in).

This species, commonly called the Sekukhune flat lizard, inhabits a small area of savannah within the Sekhukhuneland natural region of South Africa, and its range includes the Mpumalanga Escarpment. For reproduction, female Sekukhune flat lizards lay two eggs in rock cracks during early summer.
