About Platysaurus lebomboensis Jacobsen, 1994

Lebombo flat lizards, scientifically named Platysaurus lebomboensis Jacobsen, 1994, are closely related to the subspecies Platysaurus intermedius wilhelmi. Adult males, adult females, and juveniles of this species all have a base black-brown-gray coloration, blue bellies, and white spots and stripes on their backs. This lizard is native to southern Africa, where its range covers Transvaal, Swaziland, and the South African province of KwaZulu-Natal. This range includes the Middle Lebombo Range. As a small species, the Lebombo flat lizard inhabits grasslands and thickets.
