Platynota idaeusalis, commonly known as the tufted apple bud moth, is a moth species belonging to the family Tortricidae. This species is distributed across eastern North America, ranging from Ontario in the north, southward to Florida, and westward to Oklahoma. The wingspan of adult Platynota idaeusalis measures between 12 and 25 mm. In the northern part of its range, adult moths are active in flight from June to July. Multiple generations of this moth occur each year.
