About Platycerus caprea (Degeer, 1774)
Platycerus caprea is a species of beetle that belongs to the subfamily Lucaninae within the family Lucanidae. It was first described by Charles De Geer in 1774, and at that time it was the first known member of its genus, Platycerus. This beetle has a Eurasian distribution, and can be found in the Ural Mountains and in Turkey.
