About Plagiognathus chrysanthemi (Wolff, 1804)

Plagiognathus chrysanthemi, commonly known as the trefoil plant bug, is a species of plant bug belonging to the family Miridae. It is found throughout the entire Palearctic region, and occurs as an adventive species in North America. Plagiognathus chrysanthemi feeds by sucking sap from herbaceous plants, and it is highly polyphagous, feeding on many different host plants. These hosts come from a range of different plant families, including the daisy family (Asteraceae) and the legume family (Fabaceae). These bugs feed particularly on the immature reproductive organs of their host plants.
