About Pittosporum spinescens (F.Muell.) L.W.Cayzer, Crisp & I.Telford

Pittosporum spinescens, commonly called wallaby apple, orange thorn, or thorn orange, is a shrub species native to woodlands and dry rainforest across Northern and Eastern Australia, as well as New Guinea. It grows up to 7 meters tall. It bears small leaves that cluster on short branches, which often end in a sharp point. This plant produces edible fruits that measure 2 to 3 centimeters in diameter. Pittosporum spinescens is very similar in appearance to its close relative Pittosporum multiflorum, but the two can be easily distinguished. P. spinescens has entire, smooth leaf margins, while P. multiflorum has toothed leaf margins.
