About Pittosporum oreillyanum C.T.White
Pittosporum oreillyanum is a plant species that belongs to the Pittosporaceae family. It occurs in the border regions between the Australian states of New South Wales and Queensland. This species grows as a shrub or small tree, reaching a maximum height of 5 metres. It is a spiny plant, typically found growing in high altitude areas of the Mount Warning caldera. Individual plants are often covered in hanging mosses and liverworts. It was first collected for botanical study by Cyril Tenison White in 1929. The type collection location is Mount Hobwee, Lamington National Park, close to the New South Wales–Queensland border at an altitude of 4000 feet. It was first formally published in scientific literature in 1936, in the paper "Contributions to the Queensland Flora, No. 5" that appeared in the Proceedings of the Royal Society of Queensland.
