About Pingasa chlora (Stoll, 1782)

Pingasa chlora, commonly known as the white looper moth or flower-eating caterpillar, is a moth species belonging to the family Geometridae. It was first described by Caspar Stoll in 1782. This species can be found in Sundaland, the Philippines, Sulawesi, and in the area extending from the Moluccas to Queensland, Australia. Its larvae have been successfully reared on leaves of Euroschinus and Flindersia species. In Australia, Pingasa chlora is classified as a pest on Nephelium lappaceum (rambutan) and Litchi chinensis (lychee). Additional confirmed food plants for this species include Euroschinus falcata, Rhodomyrtus tomentosa, and Flindersia schottiana.
