About Pimelea nivea Labill.

Pimelea nivea Labill. is an erect shrub that typically reaches a height of 0.3 to 3.5 m (1 ft 0 in to 11 ft 6 in). Its young stems are densely covered in white hairs. Leaves are arranged in opposite pairs, with shapes ranging from elliptic to round. They measure 2โ€“16 mm (0.079โ€“0.630 in) long and 2.5โ€“12 mm (0.098โ€“0.472 in) wide, and grow on a short petiole. The upper surface of the leaves is glabrous, while the lower surface is densely covered with white hairs. A large number of flowers grow in compact clusters at the ends of branches. Flowers are most often white or cream-coloured, and rarely pale pink. The sepals are 2.0โ€“4.5 mm (0.079โ€“0.177 in) long, and the floral tube is 6โ€“10 mm (0.24โ€“0.39 in) long. Flowering takes place from September to February. This pimelea grows mainly on rocky hillslopes. It occurs in the Devonport-Waterhouse region, and between Hobart and South West Cape, where it is common and widespread.
