Pictichromis porphyrea, commonly known as the magenta dottyback, is a species of fish in the dottyback family. This fish is native to the western Pacific Ocean. Its geographic range extends from the Philippines to Samoa, reaching north to the Ryukyu Islands and south to the Moluccas and Admiralty Islands. The magenta dottyback occasionally enters the aquarium trade. The maximum length this species grows to is 6 centimeters, or 2.4 inches.
