Phymatodes nitidus is a species of longhorn beetle. It can be found along the west coast of North America, ranging from southern California north to British Columbia. Female Phymatodes nitidus lay their eggs on the surface of cones from giant sequoia and coast redwood trees. After hatching, the beetle larvae burrow into these cones to develop.
