About Phyllospadix torreyi S.Watson

Phyllospadix torreyi, commonly known as Torrey's surfgrass, is a plant species found along the Pacific coasts of British Columbia, Washington, Oregon, California, and Baja California, including Guadalupe Island. It grows in salt marshes located in intertidal zones. This is a grass-like plant with toothless leaves that can reach up to 60 centimeters in length. Phyllospadix torreyi is the obligate host for two epiphyte species: Melobesia mediocris and Smithora naiadum.
