About Phyllonorycter coryli (Nicelli, 1851)
Phyllonorycter coryli, commonly known as the nut leaf blister moth, is a moth species belonging to the family Gracillariidae. It is distributed across most of Europe, with the exception of the Balkan Peninsula. This species has a wingspan ranging from 7 to 9 mm. Its forewings are golden-ochreous in color, often with a fuscous tinge, and the first costal spot has a dark margin along its posterior side. Fully developed larvae are pale yellowish, with a dark green dorsal line and a pale brown head. Larvae of this moth feed on the plant species Corylus avellana, Corylus colurna, Corylus maxima, and Ostrya carpinifolia. They feed by creating mines inside the leaves of their host plants.
