About Phyllolais pulchella (Cretzschmar, 1830)
The buff-bellied warbler, with the scientific name Phyllolais pulchella, is a bird species that belongs to the family Cisticolidae. This species is the only member of the monotypic genus Phyllolais. It can be found in Cameroon, the Central African Republic, Chad, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, Sudan, Tanzania, and Uganda. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical dry forest, dry savanna, and subtropical or tropical dry shrubland. This is a small, dull-colored warbler that occurs in savanna and acacia woodland. It especially favors the tree species Acacia xanthophloea and Acacia abyssinica, and is frequently observed foraging among tree branches in pairs or small groups. It has inconspicuous habits, but is often seen feeding in mixed-species flocks.
