About Phyllodesmium magnum Rudman, 1991

Phyllodesmium magnum can grow up to 130 millimeters in length. It is one of the Phyllodesmium species that host zooxanthellae. This species was first described based on specimens from New Caledonia, with additional specimens collected from northwestern Australia, the Marshall Islands, and Hong Kong. Its confirmed distribution also includes North Kermadec and Guam. Ecologically, Phyllodesmium magnum feeds on the soft coral Sinularia sp.
