Phyllodactylus reissii (Peters, 1862) is large in size compared to other species in its genus. Adults of this species can reach a snout-to-vent length (SVL) of 7.5 cm (3.0 in). This species is native to Ecuador and Peru, and it has an established introduced population in the Galapagos. Its natural habitats include forest, shrubland, and desert, and it occurs at altitudes ranging from 0 to 2,000 m (0 to 6,562 ft). P. reissii is oviparous; adult females lay clutches of two eggs, and newly hatched individuals have a snout-to-vent length between 28–34 mm (1.1–1.3 in).
