About Phyllocoptes eupadi (Newkirk, 1984)

Galls formed by this mite appear as sub-spherical, hairy pustules on the upper leaf surface that open on the underside of the leaf. These galls often cluster along the leaf midrib, but can also occur across the entire leaf lamina, and their colour can range from pale yellow-green to deep red. Adult Phyllocoptes eupadi mites feed by sucking sap from host plant cell tissues. When galls cover a leaf densely enough, the leaf surface becomes deformed and wrinkled. This species has been recorded in Denmark, England, and Scotland.
