About Phyllidiella nigra (van Hasselt, 1824)

Phyllidiella nigra (van Hasselt, 1824) is a species of nudibranch that grows to an adult length of 25 to 75 millimeters. It has a black base body color, with rounded pink to purplish tubercles covering its dorsal surface. These tubercles are mostly arranged as isolated individuals, or in small clustered groups. This species was first formally described based on specimens from Java, Indonesia. It has been reported to have a widespread distribution across the Indo-West Pacific region. It can be found living on shallow coral reefs, at depths ranging from around 1 to 6 meters.
