About Phyllidia varicosa Lamarck, 1801
Phyllidia varicosa is a large nudibranch species that reaches at least 115 millimeters in length. It can be identified by its 3 to 6 numerous longitudinal, tuberculate notal ridges. The ridges themselves and the bases of the tubercles are blue-grey, while the tips of the tubercles are yellow. The sole of its foot has a longitudinal black stripe running along it, and the clavus of its rhinophores has between 27 and 30 lamellae. This species has a wide distribution across the Indo-West Pacific Oceans, and its range also includes the central Pacific Ocean and the Red Sea.
