About Phyllidia picta Pruvot-Fol, 1957

This species is the nudibranch Phyllidia picta Pruvot-Fol, 1957. On its dorsum, a black background pattern is interrupted by large tubercles that have yellow caps. These tubercles are surrounded by pale blue patches. The blue areas merge together close to the edge of the mantle, where the tubercles also become smaller. The very smallest tubercles in this region do not have yellow caps. The rhinophores of this nudibranch are yellow. This species has been recorded in locations ranging from Malaysia to Indonesia and the Philippines, as well as in north-west Australia. It is also found across the western Pacific Ocean, including Fiji, the Solomon Islands, and Vanuatu.
