About Phlyctis petraea R.C.Harris, Musc., Ladd & Lendemer
Phlyctis petraea, commonly known as the eggshell rock blaze, is a saxicolous (rock-dwelling) crustose lichen belonging to the family Phlyctidaceae. This species is found in eastern North America. It was formally described as a new species in 2017 by Richard Clinton Harris, Zachary Muscavitch, Douglas Ladd, and James Lendemer. Due to its widespread distribution across eastern North America and its abundant, stable populations, the International Union for Conservation of Nature classifies Phlyctis petraea as a species of least concern.
