Phlox adsurgens, commonly known as northern phlox, is a species of flowering plant in the family Polemoniaceae. It is native to the United States, where it occurs in Oregon and a portion of the northern Coast Ranges of California. It grows as part of the native flora in forested and wooded mountain habitats. This decumbent herbaceous perennial plant produces erect branches that reach up to 30 cm (1 ft) in length. Its oval leaves, which measure 1 to 3 cm (2⁄5 to 1+1⁄5 in) long, are arranged oppositely in pairs. Its inflorescence is a cluster of five-lobed pink flowers. This plant has been awarded the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit. The Latin specific epithet adsurgens translates to "rising upwards".
