About Phlomis italica L.

Phlomis italica, commonly called the Balearic Island sage, is a flowering plant species belonging to the Lamiaceae family, the mint and sage family. It is native to the Balearic Islands of Spain, and is grown as an ornamental plant for temperate climates. This plant is an evergreen shrub that produces large, oval, woolly grey-green leaves. During the summer, rings of pale pink flowers grow at intervals along its erect stems. It reaches a height and spread of 50 to 100 cm, which is 20 to 39 inches. While it is considered hardy, it grows best in a sheltered location with full sun exposure.
