Phimophis guianensis (Troschel, 1848) can reach a total length of 103 cm (41 inches), with its tail measuring 16 cm (6.3 inches) long. This species has been recorded in Brazil, Colombia, French Guiana, Guyana, Panama, Suriname, and Venezuela. Its preferred natural habitats are shrubland and savanna, occurring at altitudes ranging from sea level up to 250 m (820 ft). Phimophis guianensis reproduces by laying eggs, meaning it is oviparous.
