About Philoscia muscorum (Scopoli, 1763)

Philoscia muscorum (Scopoli, 1763), commonly called the fast woodlouse, can grow up to 11 millimetres (0.43 inches) in length. It has a shiny, mottled, greyish-brown body. As its common name suggests, this species is faster than other common woodlouse species. Compared to other common woodlice, it holds its body raised further off the ground, and its head is always very dark in colour.
