About Phelsuma quadriocellata Peters, 1883

This species, Phelsuma quadriocellata Peters, 1883, is commonly called the Peacocks Day Gecko. It reaches a total length of 4.7-4.8 inches (12 centimeters), including the tail. Like other arboreal geckos, it has lidless eyes and sticky toe pads. Its body is bright green with small red markings and a pale underside. Some individuals have blue tails. Its key identifying feature is large dark spots on both sides of the abdomen. Populations from different localities can have either two or four of these dark abdominal spots.
