Phallus multicolor (Berk. & Broome) Cooke, 1882 is similar in overall appearance to Phallus indusiatus. It differs by having more brightly coloured cap, stipe, and indusium, and is usually smaller in size. This species has been recorded in Australia, Guam, Sumatra, Java, Borneo, Papua New Guinea, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Tobago, Hawaii, and New Caledonia. It typically grows in tropical and subtropical climates.
