About Phallomedusa solida (E.von Martens, 1878)
Phallomedusa solida (E.von Martens, 1878) is a species of small, air-breathing land snail that has an operculum. It is a pulmonate gastropod mollusc that belongs to the family Phallomedusidae. In 2007, Golding, Ponder, and Byrne published work that reclassified this species, moving it from the genus Salinator (as Salinator solida) to the genus Phallomedusa, and placed it into the newly established family Phallomedusidae. This species is found along the eastern and southern coasts of Australia, occurring in the Australian states of Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia, and Western Australia. It inhabits semi-marine environments, and is most commonly found in mangroves, salt marshes, and mud flats.
