About Phacelia rotundifolia Torr. ex S.Watson
Phacelia rotundifolia, commonly known as roundleaf phacelia, is a species of flowering plant in the Hydrophyllaceae family. It is native to the southwestern United States, where it grows in habitat types including creosote bush scrub and pinyon-juniper woodland. This annual herb grows from a decumbent to an erect form, reaching a maximum height of 28 centimeters. The plant is glandular and covered in short, stiff hairs. Its leaves are noticeably rounded, with either scalloped edges or blunt teeth. Each rounded leaf blade is attached to the stem via a petiole. The hairy inflorescence forms a one-sided curving or coiling cyme made up of bell-shaped flowers. Individual flowers are approximately half a centimeter long, range in color from white to purple, and have a pale yellow throat.
