About Phacelia minor (Harv.) Thell.
Phacelia minor (Harv.) Thell. is an annual herb that grows a mostly unbranched, erect stem between 20 and 60 centimeters tall. The plant is glandular and covered in stiff hairs. Its leaves can reach up to 11 centimeters in length, with toothed, crinkly, oval or rounded blades growing on long petioles. It produces a showy inflorescence: a one-sided curving or coiling cyme holding many bell-shaped flowers. Each individual flower can be up to 4 centimeters long. These large flowers range in color from lavender to deep blue-purple, and have protruding stamens tipped with white anthers. There are reports that the glandular hairs on the stems, flowers, and leaves of P. minor secrete oil droplets that can cause an unpleasant skin rash (contact dermatitis) in some people.
