Phacelia hydrophylloides Torr. ex A.Gray is a perennial herb. It grows decumbent or somewhat upright, with hairy stems that reach a maximum length of about 30 centimeters. Its oval leaves are toothed or lobed, and grow up to 6 centimeters long. The inflorescence is a dense, headlike coil that holds several bell-shaped flowers. Each flower is under one centimeter long, ranges in color from whitish to purple-blue, and has protruding stamens.
