About Phacelia distans Benth.
Phacelia distans Benth. is a variable annual herb. Its stem can grow from decumbent to erect, and may be branched or unbranched, reaching 15 to 80 centimeters in length. It is typically glandular, and covered in either soft or stiff hairs. Its leaves are 10 to 15 centimeters long at maximum, and are divided into several lobed leaflets, sometimes with very intricate division. The inflorescence is hairy and glandular, forming a one-sided curving or coiling cyme that holds many funnel- or bell-shaped flowers. Each flower is just under one centimeter long, and may be white, or any of various shades of blue or purple.
