About Phacelia calthifolia Brand

Phacelia calthifolia Brand, commonly known as calthaleaf phacelia or caltha-leaved phacelia, is a species of flowering plant in the Hydrophyllaceae family. It is native to the Mojave Desert, specifically growing in southeastern California and western Nevada, between Barstow, California and the Death Valley area. This plant grows at elevations below 1,000 meters in sandy soils. It is an annual plant that reaches up to 30 centimeters in height, and has bristly stems. Its leaves are dark green, ranging from rounded to heart-shaped with a notched base, and measure 1 to 3 centimeters in both length and width. The leaf margins are either entire or serrated. The flowers are bell-shaped, measure around 1 centimeter in diameter, and range in color from purple to violet.
