About Persicaria prostrata (R.Br.) Soják
Persicaria prostrata (R.Br.) Soják is a decumbent perennial herb. Its stems reach up to approximately 40 centimetres in length. Its leaves are shaped lanceolate to narrowly elliptic, measuring 1 to 5 centimetres long and 3 to 10 millimetres wide, with short hairs covering the leaf margins and main veins. The ochreas are lobed, with hairs 1 to 2 millimetres long. It produces compact, short cylindrical flower spikes that are 0.6 to 4 centimetres long and 4 to 7 millimetres in diameter. This species grows on stream banks, around ground-tanks, and in ditches. It also occurs on heavy soils in areas that are prone to inundation.
