About Persea humilis Nash

Persea humilis Nash (synonym Tamala humilis), commonly called scrub bay or silk bay, is a species of flowering plant in the laurel family. It is endemic to peninsular Florida, United States. This plant is only known to grow in the deep sands of Florida scrub habitat. In this habitat, it frequently grows alongside Pinus clausa (sand pine) and Ceratiola ericoides (Florida rosemary).
