Peroneutypa scoparia is a small, carbonaceous pyrenomycete. It rarely grows taller than one centimeter. It forms thin, upright projections and grows on dead wood. When viewed under magnification, its tips display a grooved pattern shaped similarly to the tip of a Philips-head screwdriver.
