About Periparus rufonuchalis (Blyth, 1849)

The rufous-naped tit, with the scientific name Periparus rufonuchalis, is also commonly called the black-breasted tit or the dark-grey tit. It is an Asian songbird species that belongs to the tit and chickadee family Paridae. This species was sometimes previously classified as the same species as the rufous-vented tit (Periparus rubidiventris), and it was formerly placed within the genus Parus. The rufous-naped tit is native to the western Himalayas, and it has an extremely large range that includes parts of India, China, Pakistan, Turkestan, Kyrgyzstan, and Afghanistan. It is a widespread and common species, so the IUCN does not consider it to be a threatened species.
