About Periparus rubidiventris (Blyth, 1847)
The rufous-vented tit, with the scientific name Periparus rubidiventris (Blyth, 1847), is an Asian songbird that belongs to the tit and chickadee family Paridae. Some of its subspecies were previously classified under its western relative, the rufous-naped tit (P. rufonuchalis), or the two species were once considered to be fully the same species. This tit is native to the western Himalayas, and has an extremely large range that includes parts of Bhutan, China, Pakistan, India, Myanmar and Nepal. Its natural habitats are boreal forests and temperate forests. For example, in Bhutan, the subspecies P. r. beavani is a fairly common year-round resident in moist Bhutan fir (Abies densa) forests, at elevations between roughly 3,000 and 4,000 meters above sea level. Because the species is widespread and not rare, the IUCN does not consider it a threatened species.
