This moth is found in most countries across subtropical Africa located south of the Sahara, as well as in Cape Verde, Mauritius, La Réunion, and Madagascar. It has an approximate wingspan of 40 millimeters. The known host plants of its larvae are Acacia mearnsii, an Acacia species from the plant family Fabaceae.
