About Peperomia serpens (Sw.) G.Don

Peperomia serpens, commonly known as vining peperomia, is a perennial flowering plant species in the genus Peperomia of the family Piperaceae. It is native to the New World Tropics. Historically, the name Peperomia serpens has also been applied to two other species: Peperomia dimota and Peperurboia subrotundifolia. Additionally, the names Peperomia serpens and Peperomia scandens are sometimes incorrectly used to refer to Peperomia nitida, likely because both are similar-looking vining plants. The Royal Horticultural Society has given its Award of Garden Merit to "Peperomia scandens" grown as a houseplant, but it remains unclear whether this awarded plant is actually Peperomia serpens or Peperomia nitida.
