About Peperomia bracteata A.W.Hill

Peperomia bracteata is a plant species that belongs to the Peperomia genus. It is native to Mexico and Guatemala. This species is classified as a geophytic plant, which stores water and nutritional reserves in an underground tuber. When dry seasons occur, above-ground structures of the plant, including its leaves, wither away, but the tuber allows the plant to survive through the unfavorable period. Once rainfall increases again, the plant regrows its above-ground stalks and leaves.
