About Penthicodes farinosa (Weber, 1801)

Penthicodes farinosa (Weber, 1801), also known under the revised spelling Penthicodes farinosus, is a planthopper species that belongs to the subfamily Aphaeninae of the Fulgoridae family. Five subspecies of this species are distributed across Indo-China and Malesia. The genus Penthicodes was formerly classified as feminine in grammatical gender. In 2022, the genus was revised to be masculine, in accordance with ICZN Article 30.1.4.4; this revision changed the species name's spelling from farinosa to farinosus.
