About Pentachondra involucrata R.Br.

Pentachondra involucrata, commonly known as the forest frilly-heath, is a small plant native to Tasmania that belongs to the heath family Ericaceae. Its specific epithet involucrata comes from Latin, where it translates to "wrapper". This name refers to the involucral bract, which is a whorl of bracts positioned below the flower. The species was first published in scientific literature in 1810, appearing in Robert Brown's work Prodromus Florae Novae Hollandiae. Brown was a prolific Scottish botanist.
