About Penstemon serrulatus Menzies

Penstemon serrulatus Menzies grows from a perennial woody base, and produces multiple herbaceous stems that reach up to 70 centimetres (28 inches) in height. Its leaves range in shape from lanceolate to ovate-oblong, and have sharply serrated edges. Its inflorescence is made up of clusters of tubular flowers that range in color from blue to purple. This species is one of the few penstemons that grows at low elevations along the Pacific Northwest coast, and also in the Puget Sound lowlands.
