About Pellorneum capistratum nigrocapitatum (Eyton, 1839)

The Javan black-capped babbler, a member of the Pellorneidae bird family with the scientific name Pellorneum capistratum, is endemic to the Indonesian island of Java. The Malayan black-capped babbler (P. nigrocapitatum) and Bornean black-capped babbler (P. capistratoides) were previously classified as conspecific with this species, but were split off from it in 2021. The natural habitat of the Javan black-capped babbler is subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest.
