The Javan black-capped babbler, with the scientific name Pellorneum capistratum, is a bird species that belongs to the family Pellorneidae. This species is endemic to the island of Java, Indonesia. The Malayan black-capped babbler (P. nigrocapitatum) and the Bornean black-capped babbler (P. capistratoides) were previously classified as the same species as the Javan black-capped babbler, but were split from it as separate species in 2021. The natural habitat of the Javan black-capped babbler is subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest.
