About Pelargonium vitifolium (L.) L'Hér.
Pelargonium vitifolium (L.) L'Hér. is a geranium species commonly called grapeleaf geranium. This branching, mostly erect shrub is endemic to the Cape Provinces of South Africa, and it is widely cultivated as an ornamental plant. It reaches a maximum height close to one meter. Young stems are soft, covered in soft hairs, and become woody as the plant ages. Its leaves are glandular, covered in stiff hairs, aromatic, and measure roughly 6 centimeters long by 8 centimeters wide. Each leaf is divided into 5 to 7 toothed, heart-shaped lobes. Its inflorescence forms a dense umbel holding several flowers. Every flower has five petals, each about one centimeter long, and the flowers are pink with purplish markings.
