About Pelargonium elegans (Andrews) Willd.

Pelargonium elegans (Andrews) Willd. has pale pink to nearly white petals, with dark purple vertical markings on its two upper petals. This species is endemic to South Africa, where it occurs in the Eastern Cape and Western Cape provinces, ranging from Hermanus to Stilbaai, and from Port Elizabeth to Grahamstown. Its primary natural habitat is coastal Fynbos. Pelargonium elegans is cultivated as an ornamental plant. It grows easily in cultivation, and can be grown outdoors in regions that do not experience freezing temperatures. Because it naturally grows on dunes, it grows best in sandy soil.
